Over the river and through the woods lies a hidden oasis called Wallace Falls. This hike is a definite must after purchasing your favorite flower at Gold Bar Marijuana.
Wallace Falls is a mellow hike up the Woody Trail along the Wallace River. The path winds along the river and is filled with tranquil inlets, which make pit stops perfect for smoking a bowl. There are switchbacks and some moderate elevation gains between the Middle and Upper Falls, so make sure to change your personal elevation after 2.8 miles of hiking with a pick-me-up while overlooking Upper Falls.
Wallace Falls is one of Washington’s most popular hikes, so it’s best to arrive early to beat the crowds, and while dogs are allowed, leashes are required due to keep any four-legged friends safe. A Discover Pass is required for parking, and while it can be purchased on-site, we recommend getting one online. Last time we went to Wallace Falls, the meter was malfunctioning and would only print annual passes.
Wallace Falls is just a ten minute drive from Gold Bar Marijuana and is a common trip for residents of Monroe and Seattle. To get there, head west on US-2, turn right on 1st Street, then turn right on May Creek Road and follow it until you hit the trail head. Happy hiking!
